Process
How correction suggestions are handled
The goal is to fix supported errors without turning uncertain or missing data into stronger public claims.
Receive the suggestion
Corrections are sent by email or through the suggest-update path. A source link is the most useful detail.
Check source support
Changes that affect records, relationships, report links, notices, or risk wording are reviewed against public or official sources.
Update only what the source supports
If a source is limited, unclear, or conflicting, the page may be clarified without making a stronger claim.
Keep urgent issues with official sources
The site may correct confusing wording, but it is not the place to report emergencies or receive current water instructions.
What to include
- Page URL
- Public water system name or PWSID, if relevant
- City and state, if relevant
- What appears incorrect, outdated, unclear, or missing
- Official or public source link that supports the correction
- Date the source was checked
Review priority
- Current notice or advisory wording that may confuse readers about official instructions.
- Incorrect public water system match, PWSID, source link, city relationship, or report link.
- Source-backed data or wording that appears outdated or unsupported.
- Broken official links or missing official source context.
- Typos, clarity issues, or wording that could better explain limitations.
