Report highlights

Explore three Arizona utility reports

These selected reports describe different local sources and reporting years. The existing profiles retain their June 10, 2026 review dates.

Flagstaff · 2025 report

Upper Lake Mary and source protection

Flagstaff's report describes Upper Lake Mary water being treated at the Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant. Its source-water assessment section also explains how surrounding land uses and local geology inform source protection.

Prescott · 2024 report

Groundwater from the Little Chino Sub-Basin

Prescott's 2024 report identifies groundwater as its drinking-water source. It describes wells in the Prescott Active Management Area drawing from the deep Lower Volcanic Unit beneath the Little Chino Sub-Basin, followed by treatment and distribution.

Yuma · 2025 report

Use the existing report overview as a starting point

Our Yuma system page brings together its reviewed report link, selected results and source limitations. Keep the report year and individual sampling dates together when reading those results. Ask the city for a copy if its report download is unavailable.

Statewide context

How Arizona drinking-water records fit together

Oversight

ADEQ and local programs have distinct roles

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's Safe Drinking Water program works with local counties on public-system oversight. ADEQ links the Maricopa County drinking-water program and Pima County environmental-quality office; choose the program relevant to the system before asking about a local record.

Source water

An assessment describes the source setting

ADEQ's source-water protection resources address where a system's water comes from and potential contamination sources around it. Flagstaff and Prescott show why that local setting matters. A source-water assessment does not establish the provider serving a property or a current result at its tap.

Historical compliance

Check the reporting period before using a statewide summary

ADEQ's drinking-water page links a 2022 annual compliance report published July 1, 2023. That document explains historical monitoring and violation categories. Its reporting period should remain visible; it cannot establish today's notice status or describe every household's water.

Search steps

Use the Safe Drinking Water Database

The public search offers Water System No., Water System Name, county, system type and primary source-water type. Start with the provider shown on your bill or annual report.

  1. Enter the full system number or provider name.
  2. Choose Search For Water Systems and open the matching system number.
  3. Compare the name and number with your provider before using the record. Ask the utility to confirm service at your address.

Verified example

Flagstaff City Of · AZ0403008

Our September 13, 2026 review submitted AZ0403008 in the official public form and returned one FLAGSTAFF CITY OF record. Opening its linked detail confirmed that identity; EPA's exact-ID record matched it too.

County and primary-source labels describe that system record. They do not establish the boundaries of its service area or identify a private well.

Annual reports

Find the issued report or request a copy

Flagstaff's water-quality page links its 2025 Consumer Confidence Report. For a report that is missing, blocked or difficult to use, ask the provider for the reporting year and format you need. A report's publication date and sample dates can differ.

Notices and contacts

Confirm current instructions with the provider

An annual report and a historical compliance summary do not replace a current provider notice. Confirm the affected area, effective date and instructions, and check for an update or lifting notice. ADEQ's contact page provides an additional route for questions about its drinking-water program.

Lead and plumbing

Separate system results from a home's plumbing

EPA's lead guidance explains why service lines and household plumbing need their own attention. Ask the confirmed provider about its service-line records and testing options. A system-level lead result does not identify a particular property's line material or tap result.

PFAS resources

Use the date on guidance as well as on results

ADEQ's Arizona Public Water System PFAS Toolkit is dated November 2023. It is a system-focused resource; its date matters when reading background on regulation or response planning. For a measured result, keep the system, compound, sample date, units and reporting limit together and confirm the applicable current rule separately.

Private wells

Separate well construction from water testing

Arizona Department of Water Resources provides well-drilling information. Water-quality testing is a separate question: EPA's private-well guidance explains testing and maintenance for a household supply. Contact a qualified laboratory about the tests and collection instructions for your well; a nearby public-system report cannot substitute for that sample.

Common questions

Reading Arizona records in context

System identity

Why search by system number instead of city?

The Arizona search treats a system's number, name and county as separate fields. The name on a bill may differ from a city name. Match the public system number and ask the provider to confirm your property before applying a report.

Source assessments

Does a source-water assessment describe my tap?

It describes the source's setting and protection, including surrounding land use and geology. Your tap is farther along the supply and plumbing system; an assessment is not a current household sample or service-area map.

Reporting years

Why do these report years differ?

The selected Flagstaff and Yuma overviews use 2025 reports; Prescott's existing overview uses its 2024 report. The linked statewide compliance document covers 2022. Each source's own period matters, and the date we reviewed this guide does not change those periods.
