Keep Montana report identities and periods in view
Bozeman · 2025 report
Use the existing report overview while the source is unavailable
Our Bozeman overview remains tied to the previously reviewed 2025 provider report. The official report and archive destinations did not allow a fresh download during this state-guide review.
Keep the report’s collection dates and notes alongside its printed values. A historical report does not establish current notice or compliance status.
Anaconda · 2025 report
The official report is a Word document
Anaconda publishes its 2025 annual drinking-water report as a Word document. Our report overview follows that source and retains its table notes and report-specific review date.
The source file’s format does not change its reporting period. Ask the supplier for a usable copy if the document is difficult to open or read.
Missoula · 2026 edition
The 2026 edition reports on 2025
Missoula Water’s 2026 report covers 2025 and also includes older sample periods. Our overview preserves those dates and the separate regulated, secondary, unregulated and PFAS tables.
The printed lithium and PFAS mixture entries have source-specific labels and units. They remain attached to the report without being converted into present-day compliance conclusions.

Montana’s records answer different kinds of water questions
Public systems
Start with Montana DEQ’s public-water program
Montana DEQ provides the public-water program, Drinking Water Watch and annual compliance reporting. Use a public water system ID to keep records for a named system together.
The county and water-source fields describe the record. A source-water assessment describes the source and its setting; neither proves that a utility serves a particular property.
Private wells
Use the owner’s testing and laboratory pathway
Montana DEQ distinguishes private wells from the public supplies it regulates. Private-well owners need testing for their own supply rather than a nearby public-system annual report.
Use Montana’s laboratory certification information and well-result guidance to plan testing and understand the report. Confirm the laboratory’s current certification and sample instructions for the tests you need.

Worked example
Find Bozeman by MT0000161
Searching for MT0000161 returns BOZEMAN CITY OF. Open that ID to confirm the system identity before following its sample or violation categories.
- Enter MT0000161 in Water System No.
- Choose Search For Water Systems.
- Open the BOZEMAN CITY OF result and check the ID MT0000161.
- Choose the relevant record category and check its date range.
Sample searches
Check the tool’s date window
The public search form says that sample searches default to the last two years. That window can differ from the period in an annual report.
Before interpreting a missing result, check the system ID, sample class and date range. A search window and an annual report are different views of the available records.

Annual reports
Use the supplier’s archive for the published report
Montana’s Consumer Confidence Report generator is an authoring tool for water-system operators. A supplier’s published report is the document customers should use for that provider and reporting year.
Missoula’s archive separately publishes a Phantom Hills report. Phantom Hills has a different system ID and is not connected to the main Missoula Water system; choose the report that matches the supplier.
Lead and PFAS
Keep inventory, school testing and monitoring separate
Montana DEQ’s lead and copper program provides service-line inventory resources. Ask the supplier for the property’s inventory entry and how unknown materials are verified.
The separate lead-in-schools program concerns facility testing. Montana’s PFAS program is another source of monitoring and investigation context; a study or environmental record does not establish a household result.

Notices and contacts
Check the issuer and affected service area
For a current notice, confirm the issuing supplier, affected area, effective dates and any update or rescission. Ask whether the supplier offers alerts for your service area.
Montana’s public-water program and emergency resources provide program context and contacts. Annual compliance reports and the selected supplier reports here do not establish today’s advisory status.
Common questions
Questions about Montana records
Report identity
Can one provider’s archive include different systems?
Yes. Missoula’s archive includes separate reports for Missoula Water, MT0000294, and Phantom Hills, MT0004379. Match the supplier and public system ID before using either report.
Report access
Is the state’s CCR generator the customer’s report?
The generator supports operators preparing a report. For the issued document, use the supplier’s published archive or ask for the specific reporting year and a usable copy.
Review dates
Does this guide update every underlying record?
No. A state-guide review checks its sources and navigation. The selected system profiles and report overviews retain their own review dates, including Anaconda’s separate report review.
